A few weeks ago on ebay a seller had a Share Bear with a rubber stomach - they didn't know what they were selling and I didn't know what I was buying.

Share turned up at my doorstep today, lovely 13" plush - with a rubber stomach and a zipper on her back with a black box inside.

Turns out she's an AM radio, runs on a 9 volt battery - and amazingly still works almost perfectly.

She is missing the volume dial, which would have been on the left of the zip. The tuning dial is still well secured on the right.

Tag reads 1986 TCFC - and Playtime Products Inc are responsible for the radio.

I'm thrilled with her. She also arrived with a friend - 80s Playful Heart Monkey!

Wow, a Care Bear plushy that's actually useful! :P You can find a replacement volume nob at Radio Shack. I doubt you'll find a heart shaped one, but you can always paint a heart on it or something.

Oddly enough the dial isn't heart shaped! It is a matching purple though :)

If you do not mind me asking, what did you pay for the radio?
