I recently bought 30 different key chains that come from Japan. Apparently they are sold as prizes in claw machines. They have arms and legs that move (dangle) when you walk, and heads that turn side to side. They have a high gloss finish that made photographing very difficult. They have hip hearts, and are licensed under TCFC. I had never heard of them and was wondering if anyone else had? If you want to see all 30, I put them up on My Webpage .![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Those are amazing. I am obssessed with Japan, so this news is exciting. Especially that these are all of the new Care Bears as well.

I've never seen these before either, but I'm a little surprised that Japan got America Cares and Amigo. |

Oh yeah. Good point Swiftheart. I saw them there, but I didn't make that connection for some reason. I wonder why other countries are able to obtain "America Cares Bear"? ts so ironic to obtain that one. But, Amigo Bear represents friendship in that it doesn't matter what language you speak, or where you come from- you can still be friends. And, Amigo Bear speaks every language in the world, so he is able to be in Japan.

It's not too surprising, because the Japanese people themselves are very interested in other cultures. You know how so many Americans are obsessed with Japanese culture? The same can mostly be said in reverse -- the Japanese are really interested in American culture, for the most part. |

You mean like Grumpy Bear above? I believe the part about the Japanese becoming obsessed with American culture. For proof I offer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alyssa_(album) Alyssa Milano released four albums worth of material in Japan. And next to nothing anywhere else. Now if anyone needs me I'll be wearing a "Speed Racer" t-shirt while watching "Godzilla" movies in my Toyota. |

I can't do this all on my own...I'm no Superman!

In a strange way they are very cute! As for why Japan has them but we don't? Japan is known for producing small things like this (keychains, jewelry, trinkets) and then bulk selling them here in America either on places like eBay or wholesale sites. Perhaps that was the idea with these but when our economy (and that of Japan's) crashed there were over supplies and no market. I'm certain a fast way to off-load a large supply of a small trinket such as this would be vending machines or fairs. Just a thought. |

Any possibilities of Takara-Tomy making CB merchandise in Japan? The reason I ask is because that one reminds me of the people that come with Tomica playsets: http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/tomica/new/images/0806/twn_soundkosaten.jpg |

Those are also from Japan, and they are called Bearbricks. They have been on eBay for about six months, but they are still expensive. So far I have seen Funshine, Cheer, Bedtime, Grumpy, Love-a-lot, and True Heart Bear. Here is some more information about Bearbricks, link |
